The Ribbon Diary is a student-led business operating as a branch of Young Enterprise. We design and sell our own handmade scrunchies, bringing creativity and personality to everyday outfits. As a social enterprise, we donate a portion of every purchase to charity.

THe Essex Showcase
We took part in The Essex Showcase on the 26th of March, where we had the opportunity to present our business and connect with judges. It was a valuable experience that allowed us to reflect on our progress and showcase our work.
We were proud to be recognised as finalists, as well as receiving the Best Marketing Award and being named Essex Company of the Year 2026!

Our First Market
On Thursday 11th December, we showcased our products at a market stall in High Chelmer Shopping Centre. This experience allowed us to engage directly with customers, receive valuable feedback, and raise awareness of our brand. It also gave us an insight into customer preferences, which informed improvements to product display and pricing.
Our Second Market
On Sunday 18th January, we held a stall at Nayland Hall, where we connected with customers, received positive feedback and saw genuine interest in the Ribbon Diary. Building on our previous market experience, we were more confident in engaging with customers and presenting our products effectively.
Our third Market
On Wednesday 11th March, we set up our stall at the Meadows Shopping Centre, giving us a chance to showcase our latest designs to the public. It was a great opportunity to speak with customers, share our products, and receive feedback from both customers and the judging panel. After our previous events, we felt much more confident handling customer interactions and answering judges’ questions.
We were also really pleased to come away with the Best Customer Service Award, and the Best Trade Stand Award, which made the day even more rewarding for our team.
Our fourth Market
On Saturday 25th April, we attended the Young Traders Market in Market Square, where we had the another opportunity to showcase our business in a real trading environment and connect with a wide range of customers. The experience helped us grow in confidence as a team and strengthen our brand presentation, leading to us receiving the Best Stall Award in recognition of the effort and attention to detail behind our setup.
